2019 In Hindsight

This year I have worked hard and I am Proud of a lot of things like: being in Room 10, having a good teacher, achieving my reading goals, my overall performance this year and my confidence level.

This year I am also thankful for a lot of things like: having a good dog, having loving and caring parents, having two little bros looking up to me, having a big family and more.

Goal: Xmas Ornaments

Materials: 1 cup of salt, oven, 1 cup of water, bowl, 2 cups of flour, tray, paint

1. Pour one cup of salt and two cups of flour into a medium-sized bowl.
2. Grab a glass of water and a spoon and start mixing.
3. When your mixture gets clumpy use your hands to knead it into a ball for about 1 minute.
4. Once your batter has been kneaded beat it down on a flat surface till flat (make sure its not to thin)
5. Grab something mildly sharp and cut out your ornament, it can only be 2d but it can be anything you want.
6. Put your ornament into an oven that is 90°C and has to be inside for three hours.
7. Once your ornament has been cooked you can decorate it with paint, glitter, ETC
8. Now that you're done, if you used to paint you should let it dry, you can give your ornament away to a friend or just hang it on the tree!

Assembly Term 3 2019 Room 10

Today (Friday November 15th) we had an assembly, this assembly wasn't like every Friday one though because it was our assembly.

In assembly when I was presenting our Diwali work I felt scared and anxious, lucky I spoke in a loud and clear voice, Miss Chand said that she could hear me from Antarctica.

Everything went well and I think that I and Room 10 did an amazing job.

Puberty

Have you been or are going through puberty? Puberty is a phase that your body goes through when it is growing into an adult you will probably go through stuff like pubic hair (Private hair), Body Odor and even periods, today I will be explaining why this happens and what to do.

When you are going through puberty your body goes through changes, for boys, the changes are: pubic hair (Penis hair), Growth in everything, pimples and body odors all these changes are because of hormones hormones are a fluid in your body that helps your body grow.

Females changes are way different but is still caused by hormones, female changes include: Periods, Pimples, Body Odor, Growth in everything, Periods happen because in the uterus (vagina) is two ovaries that create eggs each month one will fall out of the vagina and create a period, when male cells (sperms) combine with the egg cell it sticks the uterus and forms a baby.

To stay safe when going through puberty you can: drink eight glasses of water, eat healthily, Get a good night sleep and shower daily, the reason why you have to do this is that your body is growing.

Did you know that you could be drinking water that a mammoth has drank from?This is how.

Evaporation. Evaporation is the first step of the water cycle. The water gets hot and turns into steam this results in a cloud.

Condensensation.Condensensation is of course the second step of the water cycle. As water vapor in the clouds begin to cool down it becomes water again.

Precipitation. Precipitation is the third step of this cycle. This is when water falls from the clouds in forms of: Rain, Hail, Snow and sleep.

Collection. Collection is the fourth step of the cycle. After the waterfalls from the clouds it collects into the ocean and lakes. Then…..THE CYCLE CONTINUES

Are you eating for dinner? Let me tell you how you are eating plastic. First off you can simply eat or drink out of plastic and you'll still swallow some, this happens because plastic can break down into tiny microplastic bits.

Eating plastic can result in many consequences like cancer, mental disability, asma etc. The plastic industries try to cover this up because plastic has bad chemicals in it.

How can you help? You can help in lots of ways like cleaning up after yourself/other people and you can reuse, reduce, recycle.

I am writing this letter to ask for permission to use meet, Meet is a nice site for video chat, you can not use meet to talk to strangers though you can add them with their email to chat.

Endangered animals

Did you know that particular species of animals are dying because of their: Lack of habitats, pollution and hunting?

This is called an endangered animal. For example the lurmer leopard, this leopard is endangered from losing its environment, its habitat was lost by people cutting down the trees for timber and houses. There is another word for this which is called deforestation.

Animals also need lots of things to survive like fresh water, food, air, prey and safe shelter, animals also use their shelter for raising and having babies. Animals can not have babies if it is a different kind of the species EG: Asian elephant with a normal elephant.

The word extinct means that there is no more of its kind left, the common causes of this are: pollution, hunting and lack of environment/habitat.

Did you know that you are helping the environment right now? and you can help even more two! you can help by picking up rubbish, cleaning up habitats and taking care of nature.

I hope that you will consider the small things that can help nature like not littering and creating a better future for the future kids.
